Mail Solutions

Lenexa, KS, USA, May 12, 2020  -  W+D North America announces the sale of the first of two W+D BB820 intelligent inserter models for vote-by-mail and direct mail solutions to Fort Orange Press in Albany, NY.

According to Robert F. Witko, President of Fort Orange Press, “the BB820 enables us to guide New York State and other northeast and Atlantic states to success with a comprehensive vote-by-mail enhanced absentee ballot solution. Our exhaustive research consistently pointed to W+D North America’s BB700 S2 and BB820 inserters as the most robust equipment with the highest integrity.”

Michael Ring, President of W+D North America, notes “the BB700 S2 and now the new 25% faster BB820, bring our patented auto mismatch recovery technology to lead the sophisticated applications of match-mail and vote-by-mail. This exclusive technology enables the highest net throughput and accuracy, and it has made W+D the go to supplier of high-speed ballot inserters with a market share of greater than 75% in North America. We are thrilled to partner with Fort Orange Press who boasts over 100 years of ballot printing throughout the state of New York."

Jamie Dickinson, Vice President of Production at Fort Orange Press, adds “as we have grown to become the expert source for optical scan ballot printing in the northeast, it is only logical that our 2nd intelligent inserter for vote-by-mail would be a W+D BB820, as it comfortably handles virtually all outer envelopes from a #9 up to a 6-½” x 11-½” booklet and provides secure in-line overprinting of the oath envelope.”

The W+D BB820, which is rated for up to 20,000 inserts per hour, will satisfy vote-by-mail’s most demanding requirements. Like its sister BB700 S2, it readily processes unique and non-unique ballots for VBM and absentee voting as well as high end non-profit or for-profit match mail. With its modular construction, we empower our customers to grow into other value-added specialties like card- and coin-affixing.
