How it started

On August 12, 1913, the invention of the rotary principle for envelope machines led to the foundation of W+D.

One of the most important decisions was certainly the diversification of W+D's production program. In 1980, the first highly efficient 4-lane Handkerchiefmachine, the W+D 624, was introduced. Up to 200 units of this high-performance machine are sold to this day.


W+D in the 90s 

In 1990, the first W+D light inco machine for discrete high-performance lady products was introduced.


W+D in 2001

W+D in 2010

In 2010, W+D expanded its production program to include modular inserting systems with the purchase of Buhrs-ITM GmbH. These inserting systems are suitable for a variety of applications in the areas of direct mail, transactional mail, light packaging, special applications like school photos, greeting card and vote by mail ballot applications. W+D in 2013

An unforgettable experience! More than 800 guests celebrated the company's 110th anniversary last Saturday at the headquarters in Neuwied, Germany. The weather was perfect, and the varied programme provided great entertainment. There was something for every taste!

An all-round successful celebration that we will certainly remember for a long time.
